Meet the Founder

Brad McFarland

Brad McFarland is the principal owner and president of BVM Oil and Gas LLC, specializing in organizing oil and gas investment funds since 1995. With a deep understanding of the economics of oil and gas ventures, Brad has successfully led multiple investment projects.

He founded Elkonah Oil and Gas Company, raising over $3 million for a deep gas exploration project in Oklahoma. Elkonah became a major interest holder in Benex Oil and Gas Company, where Brad served on the Board of Directors. Under his leadership, Benex drilled two frontier gas wells at 18,000 feet in SE Oklahoma, uncovering significant gas shows.

In collaboration with other Benex principals, Brad co-founded Hennepin Exploration LLC, which drilled and completed gas-producing wells in shallower formations in SE Oklahoma. Despite initial success, falling gas prices rendered the construction of transportation infrastructure unfeasible.

Elkonah also invested in a five-well project in Louisiana, with two wells producing commercially, in which Elkonah and its partners sold their interests. Elkonah also participated in several exploratory projects in Kansas which proved noncommercial.  Drawing from these experiences, Brad has shifted BVM’s focus to a more balanced portfolio of projects, reducing the overall risk, while continuing to yield higher upside potential for investors.

BVM operates through a network of independent contractors with specialized expertise in targeted regions and geological formations.
